Recaro LS's currently grey leather
Starting on the pattern
Black french seam. The material is much closer to a blood red then the pics show, the lighting just sucks where i have been taking the pics.
Here is a picture of the jacket 90% complete prior to install
This is the old jacket that we removed from the back of the seat. Recaro actually used good leather for these but you can see where they are starting to wear on the bolster.
The back with good foam, it looks like the leather actually did a very good job of preserving the foam.
Applying the new jacket..
Im going to put this in bold so i know people read it...This is a good example of why we recommend professional installation on our jackets. At this point the average joe would be left with some wrinkles and bunches like you see here in the pics.
These next steps seem simple but you could damage the material fairly easily if you didnt know what you were doing. Its a mix of massaging the material into place and steaming it to obtain the perfect fit. (also an example of how perfect our patterns are which you wont find with most shops)
And here is the final product (for this bolster).. Now time for bed hopefully i wont wake up with this green death in my chest tomorrow and can have some more updates soon.
Brad and I will be taking our RML Snowflake fitted 85 Westy on a daunting adventure from FL out to SoCal tonight. As you all know, this is no task for the weak, so we may need your support in case of any "small set backs" along the way.
We'll post up updates as often as we can on here and on our Facebook, so check in for some photos and the interesting stories that I'm sure we'll have along our journey.Wish us luck and we might be seeing some of you along the way, but lets hope not.
-Matt (and Brad)

Later that day our technician installed a 6-Piston Front and 4-Piston Rear Brembo Big Brake Kit and Hoosier Race Tires mounted on a set of BBS Motorsport wheels. These two upgrades combined with the GIAC Software already on the car should make for some rather impressive lap times! While track days are always fun, we spent the day collection valuable data. Members of our Engineering Department spent a few days installing an army of sensors and probes to monitor key engine parameters while on the track. Well be using this data for future upgrades for the 997.2 TT.
Needless to say, we were quite excited to get to the track and put some perfectly good rubber to waste in the name testing and product development. Here are some pictures we took during the event:

So, how did it go?Both cars performed flawlessly. The Mk6 turned consistent 1:20s at the Lightning Circuit, great times for its first time on the track. The car felt composed at speed, had gobs of usable power, turned with enthusiasm and could out brake more expensive machinery. Well be returning to the track soon enough with hopes of knocking those times down even farther. Our Porsche was the belle of the ball. The Lightning Circuit has a longer straightaway than Thunderbolt which gave the car some room to stretch its legs and put down all 526whp. While at the track we took the liberty to do some acceleration testing with G.I.A.C.s new 997.2TT Software. Check out this chart which gives visual and statistical how a stock car compares to one with GIAC Programming. Well be putting together more charts like this as 997.2TT product development continues.
Thats all folks!
Ready to begin....
In process....
Full car shot for posterity's sake.
